Schools are means of overcoming poverty and diseases

  • On Monday January 7th, 2013, in the speech to diplomats at Vatican palace, Pope Benedict XVI mentioned about conflicts in Middle East, Africa and Syria, gay rights, abortion and euthanasia in Western countries.

    He called on the developing countries of Africa, Asia and Latin America to invest in education and the creation of accountable and fair legal systems. Schools, Benedict stressed, are means of overcoming poverty and disease.
