Tường thuật thánh lễ phong thánh cho hai vị Giáo Hoàng Gioan XXIII và Gioan Phaolô II

Đức Thánh Cha Phanxicô đã long trọng tôn phong hai vị tiền nhiệm Gioan XXIII và Gioan Phaolô II lên bậc hiển thánh, trước sự tham dự rất đông đảo của các Hồng Y, Giám Mục, Linh Mục và giáo dân đến từ các nước.

Trong những ngày vừa qua, bầu không khí ở Vatican đang trở nên sôi động vì dòng người kéo đến cũng như vì không khí chuẩn bị cho ngày lễ phong thánh cho hai vị Giáo Hoàng Gioan 23 và Gioan Phaolô 2. Phòng Báo Chí Tòa Thánh cũng đã mở các cuộc họp báo để giới thiệu một vài sự kiện quan trọng sẽ diễn ra trước và vào ngày lễ trọng đại này.

Declaration of the conference on combating Human trafficking

At the conclusion of the conference, Vatican spokesman Father Federico Lombardi held a press conference at the Holy See press office. Participants included Cardinal Nichols, who was president of the conference on human trafficking, Cardinal John Olorunfemi Onaiyekan, archbishop of Abuja, Nigeria, Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe, metropolitan commissioner in London, Sister Aurelia Agredano Pérez, Vice Generale of her congregation, the Order of the Sisters of Adoration, Slaves of the Blessed Sacrament and of Charity in Spain, along with other members of law enforcement.

Jesuit priest “man of peace” killed in Homs, Syria

Dutch Jesuit Father Frans van der Lugt, a priest who lived in the war-torn Syrian city of Homs, was killed this morning. Fr. Alex Basili, Provincial of the Jesuits in the Middle East and the Maghreb confirmed the news to the Catholic news agency Fides. Fides reports that on Monday, April 7 , at around 8 am, Father Frans van der Lugt was abducted by armed men who beat him and then killed him with two bullets to the head in front of the Jeusuit residence in Homs.
